Welcome to Pogo’s inaugural blog post!
We’re excited to introduce our blog, and about the opportunity to interact with the tech community in a whole new way! Here on the blog, we’ll be introducing our readers to new technologies, discussing our insights on tech news, and letting you know about events happening in the tech world. There might even be a peek into what life is like here at Pogo HQ!
For our first post, we thought it would be a good idea to introduce ourselves, and talk a little bit about what we do. So who are we? Pogo Linux is a builder of custom servers and workstations designed specifically for Linux.
Pogo Storage is a division of Pogo Linux focusing specifically on managed open storage solutions.
OK, now you know everything.
Well…not quite. You see, while we do have a deep product line that provides a ton of customizable features at great price points, that’s not all we are. What really sets us apart from the pack isn’t what we build, it’s how we build it, sell it, and most of all support it, especially once it’s out in the ‘wild.’ Like you, we’re tech people. We live, breathe and understand what it’s like to work in IT – the late nights at the office, working with end users, and the general knowledge that when “fires” flare up, you’re the one people look to for a solution. Users count on you to “keep the trains running on time.”
That’s the approach we take here at Pogo. We know a broken computer isn’t just a broken computer – it means someone can’t use their email, access critical files, or just generally get their work done. At Pogo, supporting our customers means supporting not just you, but the users behind you. It means doing whatever we can to make your job easier. We know it’s bigger than you, and we do our best to keep that in mind in every interaction you have with us.
But enough about you, let’s talk about us!
IT is serious business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun, too. Remember that part about us being tech people? Well, most of us are serious gamers – tinkering with our rigs is a favorite pastime. The almost-non-stop debate in the office over iPhone vs Android gets pretty spirited – and don’t get us started on Android ROMs! We even indulge in some “low-tech” tomfoolery – there’s the occasional volley of obscure movie quotes, and some intense foosball games. A well-placed Top Gun quote can be just the thing when people are working to solve a complicated problem.
