Our Big News — VMware, Nexenta, and STEC!

Posted on August 8, 2012 by psadmin

Well, we’re here at VMworld and so far the show is very impressive! This is a very large show that is already proving to have a great turnout. All the major players in the Virtualization space are here and everyone has definitely brought their A-game. Looks like we’ll fit right in!

The welcome reception last night was a great way to kick-off the show – a good combination of mingling, catching up with old friends, making new ones… and of course a little business thrown in for good measure!  (For a peek at our presence at the show, click here.)

Now that the show is underway, it’s time to spill the beans on some of our big show announcements…

First off, we are thrilled that our Storage Director Z250VDI appliance has been certified by VMware. This system was put through the ringer, and has been recognized as a VMware-certified solution in the VMware Rapid Desktop Program. In fact, we’re the first Nexenta Premier Partner to have a VMware-certified NexentaVSA for View solution! We really like this product because it can dramatically reduce the cost per seat for VDI installations compared to traditional options. It also simplifies management of VDI deployments over all, and who doesn’t like that?!  To learn more about it, see the release here, and visit our VDI page, here.

Our second big announcement is about our continued relationship with STEC to feature their high-speed ZeusRAM™ and ZeusIOPS® SSDs in our StorageDirector Z-Series systems. We spend hundreds of hours every year testing and benchmarking Solid State Disk options and STEC products consistently beat the competition in the areas of performance and reliability. They are truly one of the only real enterprise options out there for intense storage environments. We like to offer our customers the best, and for us STEC makes that easy.

Between these two announcements, there’s a lot going on at VMworld! But there’s more to come… Stay tuned for our coverage of VMworld – we’re just gettin’ started!
