Spring 2015 Event Recap

Posted on May 5, 2015 by Rachel B

Springtime is always a busy time for technology conferences; this year more than ever. The team here at Pogo Linux is committed to supporting the open source community as well as taking every opportunity to interface with our peers in the IT space. Here’s a quick recap of our recent activities.

LinuxFest Northwest
The 2015 edition of LinuxFest Northwest proved to be the most successful to date, with an estimated attendance of almost 2,000 open source devotees. At the Pogo booth, we awarded several lucky winners some great prizes from Micron and Western Digital. We also presented a very well appointed workstation to the lucky grand prize winner of the LFNW drawing. In addition, Paul Bibaud, our VP of Sales & Product Development hosted a very well attended info session about Ceph, along with OSNEXUS founder Steve Umbehocker. The LFNW team is planning to post videos of most of the info sessions from the conference. Check back on their website for details.

Intel Solution Summit
In early May, Pogo (and Tux the penguin) flew down to Dallas for The Intel Solution Summit, where Intel revealed juicy details about all the innovative new technologies they’ve been working on.

SQL Saturday
Meanwhile back home in Redmond, we exhibited at SQL Saturday and met a wide range of IT professionals looking to learn more about our array of storage solutions.

OpenStack Summit – Vancouver
Last week, we teamed up with Maxta at the OpenStack Summit to provide a sneak peek at the result of our partnership, an exciting hyper-converged storage solution. Watch this space for more details – the official launch is happening in the next couple weeks! Meanwhile, you can watch many of the conference’s info sessions online.

If you’re one of the many kind folks we’ve met at a recent event, thanks for getting in touch. If not, then we look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event!
